My culinary DIS(asters)COVERIES!!!!

AoA Dearlings.......
Hows life?

So, the other day I was thinking about my culinary journey over the years. And it seems like I have quite a long list of disasters that happened during the adventure.
Like, this one time, I saw this recipie for Mango Souffle and it somehow went sour; Like, you could see curdled yellow part separated from watery part! EEWW! Had to through the whole thing out!
And then, on one fateful day; I saw this recipie of Lachay-daar Chicken(that's desi sub-continental recipie of chicken curry) and the recipie demanded Tomato paste. Ok, so I was like, in seventh grade or something, I thought tomato paste and tomato ketchup is the same thing. And then, you might as well guess what would have happened! Everything was fine with the recipie, except it was sweet curry. SIGH!
But folks, that didn't discourage me! NO! World wasn't going to get rid of my inner chef just because I managed to make sour souffle and sweet chicken curry! I once got inspired to bake a log cake. So what if it was hard like a log; I mean it was a log cake, it was suppose to be as hard as a log; or not! Anyhoo, it happened that the thin sheet cake that I baked for the log wasn't baked well and was quite, rubbery! But I frosted it anyways, and guess what? It didn't see the light of next day!
ALL IS WELL THAT ENDS WELL!

But you know, these are necessary hiccups for your learning process! I have been following quite some sites for recipies and tried them myself. Mostly, they came out right! Here are some of them.

So, dearlings, whoever wants to get best recipies of any kind, belonging to any cuisine, these are worth visiting and trying sites that may help you on your culinary journeys.

And for the newbie chefs out there, here are few tips and tricks for your adventures in kitchen.
  • DON'T LET YOUR MOTHER IN THE KITCHEN! She could might as well end up kicking you out of kitchen for making too many silly mistakes for her comfort and making a mess of her kitchen is a big no no! Just kidding! You won't last  a minute without her!

  • So to avoid panicing at the last minute for the ingredients being somewhere else, collect every ingredient and gather them before you start to cook.

  • Follow the recipie! Yes, don't make your own amendments and tweeks unless you really know what you are doing. I mean, in a learning phase, you just follow the experts, and when you are an expert yourself, do as you like.

  • Play safe. Be very careful of usage of knife and lighting up the oven or stove (its better to take your mother's help in this one!).

  • Presentation matters! This is your first attempt at cooking and you want to impress your parents. So no matter, how it tastes, presentation can get you grace marks, at least! (WINK!)

  • Please don't go all out and out, and take out the most complicated recipie on your first attempt. Take it slow! You can start with a pancake for all I know, just start with a simple recipie.

  • AND WELL, LAST BUT DEFINITELY, NOT THE LEAST; CLEAN UP AFTER YOU OR THIS WILL BE THE LAST DAY IN YOUR MOTHER'S KITCHEN! And I am not kidding!

So, dearlings! These are some of the things I've learned, sometimes the hard way, during my fooding around the culinary world and hope you find them helpful.

Its time to say Good bye, say good bye, sayyyyy gooood bye....
WAIT!  Another song!

Ok Allah Hafiz!

And Love your neighbors, and well, they may send you something good to eat! Hehehehe.....
